Western Canada has a strong community of volunteers, donors and sponsors PLUS an innovative team of researchers and health professionals. These people are the heart and soul of our organization, and there are so many exciting ways to get involved. Every community, large or small, has the potential to help us improve the lives of those affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and bring us closer to finding cures.

Crohn's and Colitis Canada Chapter Meetings: These illnesses are much more manageable when the community comes together, shares and learns from one another. Chapter Meetings presented by Crohn's and Colitis Canada are a time for people with inflammatory bowel disease to come together to support each other. 

Our focus is to create awareness of these diseases locally, improve the lives of those living with Crohn's and colitis, to grow our volunteer base and to raise funds to invest in research, patient programs, advocacy and awareness.

The meetings are a time to share experiences and both give and receive support.  Time will be set aside during each chapter meeting for networking and discussing topics relevant to living with Crohn's disease and/or ulcerative colitis.

Webinar: Managing the Cost of Care - Budgeting with a Chronic Illness

Living with Crohn's and colitis can be expensive, especially while in school. This webinar explores ways to manage your disease while on a student budget.

Learn the latest information on Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis at this FREE  Education session event featuring expert speakers and people living well with inflammatory bowel disease.
We'll be exploring recent findings on Crohn's and colitis, and look at how a better understanding of the diseases can lead to better treatments.

An Internist at Grande Prairie Primary Care Network, Dr. Westra will be speaking on biologics, bowel ultrasounds and treatment options for patients living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
 
Taylor Hanna, RD 
Registered Dietitian at Grande Prairie Primary Care Network 
will be speaking on nutrient deficiencies, prevention of malnutrition and dehydration, and recommendations on current management diets.
